Through our programs, we build positive relationships with kids and teens in our community.

Our apprentices work directly in their own neighborhood learning nutrition education and conducting free farmers markets.

apprenticeship program

Local youth in grades 4-6 participate in a 10-week summer program in which they learn both gardening skills and nutrition education. In addition, they earn a weekly cash stipend for their work. Our apprentices hold a weekly free produce market for their neighbors, empowering themselves while educating others.

At our CSA Farm, teens learn how to communicate with customers, grow food, and work hard.

summer teen internships

Sproutin' Up offers summer internships at our farm and in the community. This program teaches teens first-job skills and connects them with other opportunities in our community. Each teen can earn up to $600 through their internship. While working with us, teens learn communication skills, work skills, resume writing, and much more.

Each week, our youth give away local produce to families living in food deserts. Many of the kids are from the neighborhood, so it’s a chance for them to reach out to their neighbors and families and show off their hard work.

philanthropic produce markets

Our free farmers markets were our first programs and they continue to serve over 50 families every week while donating over 4,500 pounds of produce. Run by our apprentices, this programs helps connect families with healthy, local produce.
